celebration cinema is a Grand Rapids, Michigan-based movie theater chain instituted by Studio C, formerly Loeks Theatres, Inc. It attracts 5.5 million visitors a year in cities like Lansing, Muskegon, and Kalamazoo in West and mid-Michigan[1][3].

 Background and Development

The company has its beginnings as being well over 80 years old in the cinema industry. Opening its theatre for the first time at Grand Rapids, it was actually the first drive-in theater within its area. Having been with fame through the 1980s to have then the largest multiplex within the United States, the company converted digital cinema in 2007 and since then uses RGB pure laser projection technology to enhance viewing experiences[3].

In 2018, Loeks Theatres was rechristened as Studio C, hopefully under one name to join all the disparate operations. The name was in honor of its former Studio 28 theater, at the time the world’s largest cinema[1].

Special Events and Collaborations

This fall, Celebration Cinema joins Long Road Distillers to create specialty cocktails to pair with specific movies, which is an effort in creating memorable guest experiences for the company’s continued effort[4][8]. The other series running is that of the Canned Film Series that pairs major movies with specially chosen drinks adding value to the experience at the cinema[8].
